Dishwashers for a low counter: measure the opening first.

A counter that leaves only 32½ inches of clear height needs a different shortlist from an opening that is 34 inches high. The relevant measurement is from the finished floor to the underside of the counter—not the advertised counter height.

The four models below meet the conservative minimum-height screen at 32½ inches. Width, depth, upper height limits and installation details still decide whether they are candidates for your kitchen.

Why the last eighth of an inch matters

GE GDT226SSLSS requires 32⅜ inches of opening height; its body minimum is lower. Bosch SGE53C55UC and SGX78C55UC have a 32⅛-inch minimum in their spec drawings. This site uses those stricter Bosch drawings even though the linked installation guides describe smaller minima. A result that depends on the smaller numbers needs an installer’s review of the applicable documents.

A model being short enough does not establish its maximum installation height. Bosch’s 34 7/16-inch adjustable body maximum is not a documented maximum cabinet opening for these two 24-inch models. That field remains unknown.

Check the width and the corner, too

The two 24-inch Bosch spec drawings show an opening range of 24–24¼ inches, with a separate 23⅝-inch condition without decor strips. Their installation guides illustrate 6 inches of corner clearance. GE’s two low-profile installation sections specify 2 inches at a corner and 23⅛ inches in front for the door. Compare the drawings with your exact layout; corner clearance is not the total space required in front.

Raised flooring can trap an existing dishwasher

Measure the clear height at the front and farther inside the cavity. If newer flooring ends at the old dishwasher, a measurement inside the cavity may overstate the height available for removal. The linked GE installation guide calls for the cavity floor to be level with the room floor.

Why this is a short list

The full research catalog has 31 model records. Models with unverified opening dimensions, custom-panel requirements or unresolved body-width conflicts stay out of automatic shortlists. The 18-inch Bosch SPE53C55UC has several different published depth numbers; our lookup uses 24 inches from the spec drawing and explains the smaller alternatives separately.
